El hidr\u00f3geno verde se est\u00e1 perfilando como el combustible cero emisiones que se impondr\u00e1 en el futuro. Se trata de la energ\u00eda elegida por la Comisi\u00f3n Europea<\/strong> para transformar su sistema energ\u00e9tico responsable del 75% de las emisiones de GEI<\/strong> del continente, y as\u00ed cumplir el Pacto Verde Europeo<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

Con este fin, destinar\u00e1 hasta 30.000 millones de euros<\/strong> durante los pr\u00f3ximos 10 a\u00f1os, tal y como recoge A Hydrogen Strategy for a climate-neutral Europe<\/strong> del European Clean Hydrogen Alliance<\/strong>. Su finalidad es la de integrar toda la cadena de valor del hidr\u00f3geno, incluyendo la industria, las administraciones p\u00fablicas locales y nacionales, la sociedad y otros agentes del entorno.<\/p>\n

El director ejecutivo del organismo de la UE The Fuel Cells and Hydrogen Joint Undertaking (FCH JU), Bart Biebuyck, <\/strong>declar\u00f3: <\/strong>\u00abLa FCH JU apoya el desarrollo de electrolizadores de alto rendimiento por parte de la industria europea que pueden operar din\u00e1micamente con energ\u00eda renovable, ayudando a equilibrar la red el\u00e9ctrica. La ampliaci\u00f3n en este campo es clave para la industria, el transporte y los edificios sostenibles, y este proyecto es un paso firme para avanzar hacia la electr\u00f3lisis de cientos de megavatios o incluso gigavatios\u00bb.<\/p>\n

La FCH JU ha concedido, entre otras, una subvenci\u00f3n de 11 millones de euros al proyecto que Nouryon y Gasunie<\/strong> llevar\u00e1n a cabo en Delfzijl, en los Pa\u00edses Bajos. Este proyecto prev\u00e9 convertir la electricidad renovable en 3.000 toneladas anuales de hidr\u00f3geno verde.<\/p>\n

El Plan de Espa\u00f1a \u00abHoja de Ruta del Hidr\u00f3geno: una apuesta por el hidr\u00f3geno renovable\u00bb<\/strong> quiere posicionar el pa\u00eds como referente en la producci\u00f3n de hidr\u00f3geno verde por la ventaja de Espa\u00f1a frente a los otros pa\u00edses europeos en la captaci\u00f3n de energ\u00edas renovables, que har\u00edan de Espa\u00f1a un exportador de energ\u00eda. El Instituto Catal\u00e1n de la Energ\u00eda (Icaen)<\/strong> acaba de poner en marcha la Mesa del Hidr\u00f3geno de Catalu\u00f1a<\/strong>, en la que 40 empresas, entidades y administraciones trabajar\u00e1n conjuntamente para desarrollar tecnolog\u00edas de este combustible cero emisiones.<\/p>\n

El hidr\u00f3geno constituye aproximadamente el 75% de la materia del universo y tambi\u00e9n es el elemento m\u00e1s abundante. Es un portador de energ\u00eda y tiene la ventaja de que su densidad de energ\u00eda es tres veces la de los combustibles f\u00f3siles. El agua es la portadora del hidr\u00f3geno. La energ\u00eda que se utiliza actualmente para conseguir esta separaci\u00f3n proviene del gas natural o del carb\u00f3n, y supone unas emisiones de 830 millones de toneladas de CO2 anuales<\/strong>. Estos combustibles f\u00f3siles se ir\u00e1n sustituyendo progresivamente por las energ\u00edas renovables, sobre todo la e\u00f3lica y la solar. Las emisiones provocadas por la producci\u00f3n del hidr\u00f3geno son casi de 830 millones de toneladas de CO2 anuales.<\/strong><\/p>\n

    Como ya hemos mencionado este proyecto de Iberdrola va de la mano de Fertiberia<\/strong>, fabricante de amon\u00edaco para los abonos y que ahora emplear\u00e1 el hidr\u00f3geno verde que le suministrar\u00e1 Iberdrola, reduciendo en un 10% sus necesidades de gas natural.<\/p>\n

    Con respecto al tema de los costes de producci\u00f3n<\/strong>, actualmente el hidrogeno verde no puede competir con los combustibles f\u00f3siles que est\u00e1n alrededor de 1,5 \u20ac \/ kg en la UE, mientras que la producci\u00f3n de hidr\u00f3geno verde se sit\u00faa entre el 2,5 y el 5,5 \u20ac \/ kg. Sin embargo, en los \u00faltimos 10 a\u00f1os los costes se han ido reduciendo un 60% y se calcula que en 2030 se habr\u00e1n reducido un 50% m\u00e1s.<\/p>\n

    Tambi\u00e9n ser\u00e1 muy importante el uso de este combustible cero emisiones en los puertos. Por ejemplo, el puerto de Rotterdam<\/strong>, con el objetivo de convertirse en un referente de la descarbonizaci\u00f3n, est\u00e1 construyendo la mayor planta de hidr\u00f3geno verde de Europa, el inicio de funcionamiento de la cual est\u00e1 previsto para el 2023.     En sus planes tambi\u00e9n est\u00e1 aumentar su capacidad de producir electrolizadores en 150-250 MW y generar 2 GW de energ\u00eda e\u00f3lica marina<\/strong>. Tambi\u00e9n proyectan convertir el gas natural y el gas de refiner\u00eda en hidr\u00f3geno, almacenando el CO2 emitido en campos de gas situados bajo el mar del Norte.<\/p>\n
