Seg\u00fan la Organizaci\u00f3n Mundial de la Salud (OMS) la poluci\u00f3n del aire causa siete millones de muertes cada a\u00f1o, 600.000 mil de ellas ni\u00f1os y ni\u00f1as.<\/p>\n<p>En Europa, la cifra alcanza las 400.000 muertes anuales y en pa\u00edses como <strong>China, asciende a las 4.400 muertes diarias<\/strong>, seg\u00fan afirma el \u00faltimo estudio de la Universidad de Berkeley. Los \u00faltimos datos de la <strong>Agencia de la Salut P\u00fablica de Barcelona<\/strong> muestran que el exceso de contaminaci\u00f3n est\u00e1 provocando alrededor de 1.000 muertes naturales al a\u00f1o en la ciudad. Es por eso que, para esta ocasi\u00f3n, Catalu\u00f1a -que participa por quinta vez en la Biennal-, presenta \u201cAire\u201d, una iniciativa que pretende mostrar a trav\u00e9s de <strong>im\u00e1genes y evidencias cartogr\u00e1ficas, el estado y la mala calidad del aire de la ciudad de Barcelona. <\/strong><\/p>\n<p>A trav\u00e9s de multi-proyecciones inversivas mostrar\u00e1, por una parte, Barcelona como caso de estudio, y por otra, la distribuci\u00f3n mundial de la contaminaci\u00f3n del aire. Y es que, justo antes de la declaraci\u00f3n del estado de alarma, coloc\u00f3 sensores de calidad del aire en puntos estrat\u00e9gicos de la ciudad condal como el Barrio G\u00f3tico y el Frente Mar\u00edtimo.<\/p>\n<p>Los datos avalados por la <strong>Generalitat de Catalu\u00f1a<\/strong> demostraron que, desde marzo de 2020, los niveles de contaminaci\u00f3n se redujeron entre un 70% y un 80% en Barcelona.
