La comunidad internacional asegura que una de las claves para frenar el cambio clim\u00e1tico es poner el foco en la acci\u00f3n local o a peque\u00f1a escala<\/strong>. De hecho, un estudio elaborado por el CIFOR<\/strong> (Centro para la Investigaci\u00f3n Forestal Internacional), asegura que la acci\u00f3n clim\u00e1tica global no ser\u00eda nada sin el respaldo local.<\/p>\n

Esta investigaci\u00f3n desvel\u00f3 que la implementaci\u00f3n de las iniciativas y medidas para combatir el cambio clim\u00e1tico no funcionar\u00eda si no se presta atenci\u00f3n a la gobernanza a nivel subnacional.<\/strong><\/p>\n

Y es que no se puede hablar de cambios en el uso de la Tierra, gesti\u00f3n del entorno y los ecosistemas y medidas de adaptaci\u00f3n y mitigaci\u00f3n<\/strong> sin tener en cuenta todos los niveles, desde el global hasta el nivel del terreno.<\/p>\n

Todo ello tuvo lugar durante la jornada \u201cLas ciudades espa\u00f1olas ante el reto de la neutralidad clim\u00e1tica<\/strong>\u201d, celebrada el mencionado 8 de septiembre de 2021. A lo largo de este evento, alcaldes de doce ciudades espa\u00f1olas compartieron sus experiencias en el camino hacia la sostenibilidad ambiental y mostraron las medidas que estaban llevando a cabo para reducir su huella de carbono.<\/p>\n

A\u00fan as\u00ed, de momento el compromiso es una declaraci\u00f3n de principios que no vincula a estas cuatro ciudades de forma legal. Este pacto \u00fanicamente estipula que las ciudades deben empezar a desarrollar sus propias estrategias que tengan como objetivo lograr la neutralidad clim\u00e1tica para el final de esta d\u00e9cada.<\/p>\n

Parece ser que \u00e9sta es una medida similar a la Declaraci\u00f3n de Emergencia Clim\u00e1tica que algunas comunidades aut\u00f3nomas y estados llevaron a cabo durante el a\u00f1o 2019. Esperemos que como sucedi\u00f3 anta\u00f1o, la de estas ciudades no sea una declaraci\u00f3n vac\u00eda y desprovista de acci\u00f3n.<\/p>\n

Sin duda, estas grandes ciudades han tomado la decisi\u00f3n de aumentar su ambici\u00f3n clim\u00e1tica y reducir al m\u00e1ximo las emisiones de CO2, debido a la marea verde pol\u00edtica presente en toda Europa y Am\u00e9rica. A\u00fan as\u00ed, en esta decisi\u00f3n tambi\u00e9n tienen cierto protagonismo los ciudadanos de a pie, que en los \u00faltimos a\u00f1os han demostrado, a trav\u00e9s de su voto, su preocupaci\u00f3n por el cambio clim\u00e1tico.<\/strong><\/p>\n
