A trav\u00e9s de los sat\u00e9lites, por ejemplo, podemos ver c\u00f3mo se ha reducido la extensi\u00f3n de hielo en el Polo Norte, ha subido el nivel del mar en todo el globo terr\u00e1queo, han desaparecido algunos lagos y r\u00edos, etc. Adem\u00e1s, tambi\u00e9n podemos descubrir cu\u00e1l es la verdadera magnitud de los incendios forestales en Amazonas, Siberia o \u00c1frica.<\/strong><\/p>\n

Desde que el 4 de octubre de 1957 se lanz\u00f3 con \u00e9xito el primer sat\u00e9lite artificial de la historia, el archiconocido\u00a0Sputnik<\/strong>, se estima que actualmente orbitan la tierra m\u00e1s de 3.500 sat\u00e9lites operativos.\u00a0Y ahora Catalu\u00f1a ha a\u00f1adido tres m\u00e1s al c\u00f3mputo global<\/strong>; demostrando de este modo, que el \u00e1mbito regional o local tambi\u00e9n puede contribuir en la lucha contra cambio clim\u00e1tico.<\/p>\n

Y es que el 3 de enero de este 2023 Catalu\u00f1a lanz\u00f3 su segundo nanosat\u00e9lite al espacio: un sat\u00e9lite llamado \u201cMenut\u201d, \u201cPeque\u00f1o\u201d en castellano. El sat\u00e9lite despeg\u00f3 a bordo del cohete Falcon 9 desde la Estaci\u00f3n de la Fuerza Espacial de Cabo Ca\u00f1averal de Florida<\/strong> a las cuatro de la tarde – hora peninsular-. En Catalu\u00f1a el lanzamiento fue seguido muy de cerca por las autoridades pol\u00edticas y cient\u00edficas desde la sede barcelonesa de Open Constellation<\/strong>, el Open Cosmos.<\/p>\n

El director del Instituto de Estudios Espaciales de Catalu\u00f1a<\/strong>, Ignasi Ribas, explic\u00f3 que, desde estas instalaciones ubicadas en Sant Esteve de Sagra, \u201cen unas semanas el nanosat\u00e9lite Menut empezar\u00e1 a enviar im\u00e1genes que se publicar\u00e1n en un portal digital abierto<\/a> y accesible para todo el mundo\u201d.<\/p>\n

Esto aumentar\u00e1 la proyecci\u00f3n del ecosistema espacial catal\u00e1n y democratizar\u00e1 el acceso a la informaci\u00f3n sobre el impacto del cambio clim\u00e1tico en la regi\u00f3n<\/strong>. Un avance ZEO que ayudar\u00eda a incrementar la conciencia clim\u00e1tica de la poblaci\u00f3n.<\/p>\n

Este segundo nanosat\u00e9lite, que pesa menos de diez quilos y tiene la misma medida que una caja de zapatos, dispone de una c\u00e1mara que permitir\u00e1 observar los efectos del cambio clim\u00e1tico en el Planeta desde el espacio y obtendr\u00e1 datos espec\u00edficos de la regi\u00f3n catalana.<\/p>\n

El primer sat\u00e9lite, llamado \u201cEnxaneta<\/strong>\u201d fue lanzado al espacio en marzo del 2022 con el objetivo de obtener datos relacionados con el \u00e1mbito del Big Data y el Internet de las Cosas. La Generalitat ya ha informado que el tercer nanosat\u00e9lite ser\u00e1 lanzado a la atmosfera a lo largo del primer trimestre de 2023, y que este estar\u00e1 destinado exclusivamente a impulsar las telecomunicaciones catalanas.<\/p>\n

Sin embargo, el objetivo del \u201cMenut\u201d es poder ofrecer datos de utilidad que permitan a Catalu\u00f1a y a todo el mundo articular estrategias de mitigaci\u00f3n y adaptaci\u00f3n al cambio clim\u00e1tico m\u00e1s efectivas<\/strong>. Este nanosat\u00e9lite, que ya est\u00e1 orbitando alrededor de la Tierra a una velocidad de 8 km por segundo, sobrevolar\u00e1 Catalu\u00f1a cada 5 d\u00edas y obtendr\u00e1 datos sobre este y otros territorios.<\/p>\n

Con el lanzamiento de este nanosat\u00e9lite, Catalunya vuelve a posicionarse a la cabeza entre las regiones m\u00e1s implicadas en la lucha contra el cambio clim\u00e1tico. Y es que, en los \u00faltimos a\u00f1os, Catalunya ha demostrado una fuerte voluntad y ambici\u00f3n a la hora de establecer compromisos y planes de acci\u00f3n para frenar la crisis clim\u00e1tica y reducir su huella de carbono.<\/p>\n

De hecho, esta regi\u00f3n declar\u00f3 la Emergencia Clim\u00e1tica en mayo de 2019, cinco meses antes que el Gobierno Espa\u00f1ol.<\/p>\n
