Pese a que las primeras investigaciones y hallazgos sobre el cambio clim\u00e1tico datan del 1850,<\/a> no ha sido hasta esta \u00faltima d\u00e9cada cuando la comunidad internacional se ha puesto \u201cseria\u201d con el asunto, y ha empezado a definir las pautas para articular una transici\u00f3n ecol\u00f3gica justa a todos los niveles.<\/p>\n

En esta \u00faltima COP28 finalmente los pa\u00edses han llegado a un acuerdo y se han comprometido al abandono definitivo de los combustibles f\u00f3siles<\/a>.\u00a0 Despu\u00e9s de 15 d\u00edas de borradores que no llegaban a las expectativas de la comunidad clim\u00e1tica y una intensa noche de debate, durante la COP28 de Dub\u00e1i se aprob\u00f3\u00a0definitivamente la transici\u00f3n para el fin de los combustibles f\u00f3siles.<\/p>\n

Ahora bien, \u00bfpor qu\u00e9 ahora? \u00bfCu\u00e1l es el motivo por el que finalmente los pa\u00edses han decidido tomar este importante paso a favor de la salud del Planeta y la supervivencia de los ecosistemas?<\/p>\n

Las causas pueden ser muy variadas y ampliamente debatidas. Sin embargo, hay una que es incuestionable. El motivo por el que los pa\u00edses han decidido activar la transici\u00f3n a la energ\u00eda limpia y articular una sociedad ZEO -cero emisiones-, es que ya no pueden negar m\u00e1s la realidad. <\/strong><\/p>\n

En los \u00faltimos a\u00f1os, las consecuencias del cambio clim\u00e1tico se han hecho mucho m\u00e1s evidentes para nuestra sociedad y han llegado a o\u00eddos de todas las esferas sociales y personas. Los fen\u00f3menos clim\u00e1ticos extremos, la subida generalizada de las temperaturas, seguidos de la sequ\u00eda y la subida del nivel del mar son algunos de los problemas que amenazan a millones de personas en todo el mundo.<\/p>\n

Sin embargo, existen algunos colectivos y comunidades particularmente afectadas por los impactos del cambio clim\u00e1tico. El calentamiento global de la tierra azota con m\u00e1s fuerza a determinados pa\u00edses o regiones geogr\u00e1ficas, por ejemplo, a naciones muy c\u00e1lidas, comunidades polares o pa\u00edses insulares<\/strong>, pero tambi\u00e9n a segmentos de la poblaci\u00f3n concretos.<\/p>\n

En este sentido, para lograr una transici\u00f3n ecol\u00f3gica justa que no deje a nadie atr\u00e1s y construir una sociedad ZEO, resulta fundamental analizar las desigualdades y definir estrategias que nos permitan alcanzar soluciones m\u00e1s inclusivas y sostenibles.<\/p>\n

Todo ello facilitar\u00e1 a la comunidad internacional y los organismos estatales dedicados a esta \u00e1rea, el establecimiento de pol\u00edticas capaces de mitigar el impacto del cambio clim\u00e1tico en estas poblaciones especialmente vulnerables.<\/p>\n

    Aquellas personas con una renta e ingresos bajos suelen carecer de los recursos necesarios para adaptarse a las consecuencias del cambio clim\u00e1tico. Por ejemplo, les costar\u00e1 m\u00e1s recuperarse y hacer frente a un temporal extremo, un terremoto, un hurac\u00e1n o una borrasca.<\/p>\n

    1. Pa\u00edses en v\u00edas de desarrollo<\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ol>\n

      Tal y como se ha comentado a lo largo de los \u00faltimos a\u00f1os en las conferencias internacionales, los pa\u00edses en v\u00edas de desarrollo son los que menos han contribuido al cambio clim\u00e1tico. Sin embargo, y parad\u00f3jicamente, son los que m\u00e1s est\u00e1n sufriendo sus consecuencias.<\/p>\n

      Las naciones con econom\u00edas menos desarrolladas suelen ser m\u00e1s vulnerables debido a la falta de infraestructura, sistemas de alerta temprana y capacidad para hacer frente a desastres naturales y fen\u00f3menos clim\u00e1ticos extremos.<\/p>\n

      En paralelo, para estos pa\u00edses es mucho m\u00e1s dif\u00edcil articular una transici\u00f3n ecol\u00f3gica, pues no disponen de dinero para invertir en tecnolog\u00eda verde y soluciones sostenibles. Precisamente por ello, durante la pasada COP27<\/a> se aprob\u00f3 un fondo para financiar las p\u00e9rdidas y da\u00f1os\u00a0provocados por las consecuencias del cambio clim\u00e1tico,\u00a0que fue calificada como hist\u00f3rica.<\/strong><\/p>\n

      1. Poblaciones ind\u00edgenas<\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ol>\n

        \u00a0<\/strong>La mayor\u00eda de comunidades ind\u00edgenas dependen directamente de los recursos naturales para su subsistencia y tienen una conexi\u00f3n profunda con la tierra. El cambio clim\u00e1tico, junto a la urbanizaci\u00f3n y la deforestaci\u00f3n, afecta directamente su modo de vida y sus medios de subsistencia.<\/p>\n

        La subida de las temperaturas y los cambios en el clima han afectado de manera directa a los ciclos de cultivo y los movimientos migratorios de los animales<\/strong>, poniendo en peligro la supervivencia de los ind\u00edgenas y generando un gran n\u00famero de migraciones clim\u00e1ticas.<\/p>\n

          \n
        1. Poblaci\u00f3n infantil<\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ol>\n

          UNICEF culpa directamente al cambio clim\u00e1tico del empeoramiento de la salud de los ni\u00f1os de pa\u00edses en v\u00edas de desarrollo y en situaci\u00f3n de pobreza. Y es que los cambios en el clima intensifican las sequ\u00edas, las inundaciones y las olas de calor. Estas condiciones clim\u00e1ticas, al mismo tiempo,\u00a0incrementan la propagaci\u00f3n de \u201clos peores enemigos de la supervivencia infantil como la desnutrici\u00f3n, la malaria o la diarrea\u201d.<\/p>\n

          El cambio clim\u00e1tico incrementa el riesgo de padecer determinadas enfermedades. Greenpeace<\/strong> recuerda que el\u00a0cambio clim\u00e1tico\u00a0ha alterado dr\u00e1sticamente la biodiversidad del planeta, lo cual\u00a0favorece\u00a0la\u00a0transmisi\u00f3n de pat\u00f3genos\u00a0causantes de enfermedades tales como dengue, paludismo, asma, tuberculosis, \u00e9bola, fiebre amarilla, c\u00f3lera, diarrea, par\u00e1sitos intestinales, hipotermia, tracoma, peste.<\/p>\n

          Adem\u00e1s, es importante recordar los ni\u00f1os son particularmente vulnerables debido a su dependencia de adultos<\/strong>, su limitada capacidad para entender y gestionar riesgos, y los posibles impactos en su salud y desarrollo.<\/p>\n

          \u00a0<\/strong>Las personas mayores acostumbran a tener menos capacidad para adaptarse a cambios r\u00e1pidos en su entorno. Esto les hace especialmente vulnerables a los desastres naturales y a los cambios bruscos de temperatura. Por este motivo, el calor y los eventos clim\u00e1ticos extremos pueden poner en riesgo su salud.<\/p>\n

          En paralelo, diversos estudios demuestran que la mala calidad del aire empeora los trastornos respiratorios comunes en los adultos mayores, como el asma y la enfermedad pulmonar obstructiva cr\u00f3nica (EPOC). La contaminaci\u00f3n del aire tambi\u00e9n acent\u00faa el riesgo de ataques card\u00edacos en los adultos mayores<\/strong>, en especial, en los que tienen diabetes o presentan un cuadro de obesidad.<\/p>\n

          6. Agricultores y comunidades rurales<\/strong><\/p>\n

          \u00a0<\/strong>Los cambios en los patrones del clima afectan directamente a la producci\u00f3n de alimentos y la seguridad alimentaria. El creciente incremento de las temperaturas ha convertido plantaciones y explotaciones agr\u00edcolas ubicadas en zonas muy c\u00e1lidas, en zonas completamente incultivables.<\/p>\n

          En los \u00faltimos a\u00f1os, la temperatura media del planeta se ha incrementado cerca de 1,5\u00baC<\/strong> -con respecto a los niveles industriales-, lo que ha provocado la debilitaci\u00f3n del cultivo, la contaminaci\u00f3n e incluso tener que desechar los productos debido a los constantes cambios de temperatura y las sequ\u00edas.<\/p>\n

          Adem\u00e1s de estos grupos y colectivos vulnerables, existe un gran colectivo que representa cerca del 50% de la poblaci\u00f3n mundial<\/strong>, que tambi\u00e9n se encuentra profundamente afectado por el cambio clim\u00e1tico: las mujeres.<\/p>\n

          En muchas sociedades, las mujeres deben enfrentar desaf\u00edos adicionales debido a la crisis clim\u00e1tica. Y es que de ellas dependen tareas como la obtenci\u00f3n de agua y alimentos. De hecho, en muchas comunidades las mujeres son las responsables de la producci\u00f3n de alimentos y la gesti\u00f3n de recursos naturales. En este sentido, el cambio clim\u00e1tico afecta negativamente a la disponibilidad de alimentos y acceso a recursos<\/strong>, aumentando la carga de trabajo y la inseguridad alimentaria para las mujeres.<\/p>\n

          En paralelo, debido a la desigualdad existente, las mujeres son m\u00e1s propensas a sufrir los impactos sociales y econ\u00f3micos ocasionados por las consecuencias del cambio clim\u00e1tico.<\/p>\n

En 2020 este organismo internacional public\u00f3 un informe en el que se recordaba que\u00a0las probabilidades de morir despu\u00e9s de un evento clim\u00e1tico extremo son 14 veces m\u00e1s altas para las mujeres que para los varones. <\/strong><\/p>\n

          De hecho, el 80% de las personas desplazadas por desastres relacionados con el clima en todo el mundo son mujeres, de acuerdo con datos del Banco Mundial.<\/p>\n

          Es evidente que el calentamiento global de la Tierra tiene un impacto directo en la salud de las personas. Y en este caso, las mujeres salen peor paradas que los hombres.<\/p>\n

          Una investigaci\u00f3n llevada a cabo en Suiza sobre las muertes asociadas al incremento de las temperaturas durante los tres veranos m\u00e1s calurosos del pa\u00eds descubri\u00f3 que el 60% de los fallecidos eran mujeres.<\/strong><\/p>\n

          De las 1.500 personas que murieron durante los veranos de 2015, 2018 y 2.019, 900 fueron mujeres. Los investigadores del estudio impulsado por KlimaSeniorinnen aseguraron que existen \u201cevidencias de que las\u00a0complicaciones relacionadas con olas de calor o de fr\u00edo\u00a0afectan m\u00e1s a las mujeres que a los hombres<\/strong>, sobre todo, a las embarazadas\u00bb.<\/p>\n

          Otro informe del IPCC de la ONU sigue ahondando en esta diferencia, pero desde una perspectiva ocupacional y de salud mental: \u00ablos eventos clim\u00e1ticos resultan en un mayor estr\u00e9s asociado a mayores cargas de trabajo para las mujeres y mayor mortalidad en comparaci\u00f3n con los hombres\u00bb.<\/p>\n

          El cambio clim\u00e1tico tambi\u00e9n acent\u00faa problemas ya existentes y las desigualdades de g\u00e9nero. Tal y como recoge el medio de comunicaci\u00f3n El P\u00fablico<\/strong>, uno de los efectos inmediatos de la emergencia clim\u00e1tica es el incremento de los casos de\u00a0violencia de g\u00e9nero.<\/p>\n

          Y es que, del mismo modo que sucede durante los conflictos b\u00e9licos, el cambio clim\u00e1tico desestructura la sociedad y vertebra a las comunidades. En este sentido, los entornos se vuelven m\u00e1s violentos y la agresividad se torna contra el eterno colectivo m\u00e1s castigado de la historia: las mujeres.<\/p>\n

          Tambi\u00e9n es importante recordar que el cambio clim\u00e1tico puede afectar a la salud reproductiva de las mujeres. Algunos estudios sugieren que los cambios en los patrones clim\u00e1ticos, como las temperaturas extremas, pueden afectar a la fertilidad o al ciclo menstrual<\/strong>. Tambi\u00e9n pueden aumentar los riesgos para la salud durante el embarazo y el parto, especialmente en entornos con servicios de salud limitados.<\/p>\n

          Las mujeres han sido las m\u00e1s afectadas por el cambio clim\u00e1tico; pero tambi\u00e9n las m\u00e1s conscientes de sus impactos y las m\u00e1s decididas a ponerle fin. Las encuestas demuestran que las mujeres tienen m\u00e1s en cuenta los impactos del cambio clim\u00e1tico a la hora de contratar un servicio o comprar una marca.<\/p>\n

          Seg\u00fan la Encuesta del Banco de Inversiones (2019), el\u00a077 % de las mujeres\u00a0espa\u00f1olas ten\u00eda en cuenta los efectos del consumo en el Planeta y el cambio clim\u00e1tico<\/strong>, mientras que este porcentaje es un\u00a010 % inferior\u00a0en el caso de los hombres.<\/p>\n

          De hecho, las mujeres han sido las que han liderado las protestas ecologistas durante el \u00faltimo medio siglo.<\/p>\n

          Tal y como explica la fil\u00f3sofa feminista Alicia Puleo a EFE Verde, \u201cpodemos decir, por un lado, que las mujeres, con su presencia en los movimientos ecologistas, manifiestan su preocupaci\u00f3n por el futuro, pero no tienen suficiente voz y representaci\u00f3n en ellos\u201d.<\/p>\n

          Seg\u00fan Alicia Puleo, en el \u00faltimo tercio del siglo XX, \u201cel renacer del feminismo se dio paralelamente al surgir el ecologismo y ambos fueron considerados, por algunos estudiosos de las ciencias sociales, como nuevos movimientos sociales, en tanto que no planteaban reivindicaciones econ\u00f3micas, sino del orden de la calidad de vida como, por ejemplo, un medio ambiente menos contaminado o relaciones personales menos jer\u00e1rquicas\u201d.<\/p>\n
