Todos hemos visto im\u00e1genes de c\u00f3mo han cambiado algunos de los g\u00e9lidos paisajes m\u00e1s bellos del planeta o c\u00f3mo se han secado algunas de las zonas m\u00e1s verdes y boscosas, pero, <\/span>\u00bfHabr\u00edamos visto la magnitud del problema si no fuera por las im\u00e1genes que capturan los sat\u00e9lites? \u00bfHabr\u00edamos conseguido relacionar estos problemas con el cambio clim\u00e1tico?<\/b><\/p>\n

Desde que el 4 de octubre de 1957 se lanz\u00f3 con \u00e9xito el primer sat\u00e9lite artificial de la historia, el archiconocido <\/span>Sputnik<\/b>, se estima que ahora orbitan la tierra m\u00e1s de 3.500 sat\u00e9lites operativos. Y aunque muchos cient\u00edficos ambientalistas hablan del riesgo de que estos sat\u00e9lites se conviertan en otro problema ambiental, la basura espacial -como ya lo son los 8.000 objetos no identificados que orbitan la Tierra-, <\/span>no pueden negar el papel de \u2018Ayudantes\u2019 que est\u00e1n tomando en la lucha contra el cambio clim\u00e1tico.<\/b><\/p>\n

El sat\u00e9lite <\/span>Greenhouse Gases Observing Satellite 2<\/span><\/a> es uno de los sat\u00e9lites m\u00e1s efectivos midiendo los gases de efecto invernadero del planeta. Este sat\u00e9lite de la Agencia Japonesa de Exploraci\u00f3n Aeroespacial, bautizado como Ibuki 2, es capaz de <\/span>detectar CO2 y metano con una precisi\u00f3n de 0,5 partes por mill\u00f3n (CO2) y 5 partes por mill\u00f3n (metano).<\/b><\/p>\n

3. Temperaturas y horas de luz<\/strong><\/h3>\n

El Copernicus Climate Change Service<\/a> (C3S), es uno de los m\u00faltiples grupos de sat\u00e9lites que recogen datos de inter\u00e9s sobre el cambio clim\u00e1tico. Gracias a los datos recogidos por C3S pudimos saber que el 2018 ha sido el tercer a\u00f1o m\u00e1s caliente de la historia y que hemos sufrido una clara tendencia hacia la subida de temperaturas durante las \u00faltimas 4 d\u00e9cadas.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Esto increment\u00f3 la generaci\u00f3n de energ\u00eda solar pero perjudic\u00f3 a los glaciares alpinos, que suponen una parte importante del ecosistema, el paisaje y la econom\u00eda de la regi\u00f3n.
