La crisis sanitaria por el COVID-19 ha generado un gran impacto en todos las \u00e1reas y sectores de nuestra sociedad y econom\u00eda. Aunque gracias a las medidas de confinamiento decretadas por la mayor\u00eda de gobiernos este a\u00f1o se espera una significante reducci\u00f3n de las emisiones anuales GEI<\/a> que provocan el cambio clim\u00e1tico, lo cierto es que la econom\u00eda est\u00e1 sufriendo grandes dificultades para salir adelante.<\/strong><\/p>\n

Uno de los sectores econ\u00f3micos m\u00e1s afectados ha sido el de la movilidad, en concreto, el de la aviaci\u00f3n. En Europa las aerol\u00edneas han pedido a los gobiernos ayudas de m\u00e1s de 12 millones de euros. A\u00fan as\u00ed, en las pertinentes propuestas de rescate no se incluye ninguna \u201cmeta verde\u201d<\/strong> que tenga como objetivo reducir el impacto de este sector en el medio ambiente y en el cambio clim\u00e1tico.<\/p>\n

El sector de la aviaci\u00f3n es responsable del 3,6% de las emisiones GEI en Europa<\/em><\/strong><\/h2>\n

Y es que el sector de la aviaci\u00f3n siempre ha sido una asignatura pendiente para la lucha clim\u00e1tica. Las emisiones derivadas de la movilidad a\u00e9rea representan el 3,6% del total de emisiones GEI de la Uni\u00f3n Europea \u2013 un 13,4% del total de emisiones que genera el transporte-. Adem\u00e1s, seg\u00fan la EEA (Agencia Europea de Medio Ambiente)<\/strong> las emisiones de este sector podr\u00edan crecer un 21% en 2040, un pron\u00f3stico contradictorio para lograr cumplir los objetivos del Acuerdo de Par\u00eds 2015.<\/p>\n

Es por eso que m\u00faltiples ONGs se han puesto de acuerdo para exigir que antes de efectuar cualquier rescate, las aerol\u00edneas deben acoger compromisos ambientales para reducir sus emisiones.<\/strong> \u00a0Greenpeace, Transport &Environment y Carbon Market Watch han asegurado que el sector de la aviaci\u00f3n es el que m\u00e1s ha incrementado su huella de carbono en los \u00faltimos a\u00f1os.<\/p>\n

Seg\u00fan el \u201cRastreador de rescates de aerol\u00edneas\u201d publicado por \u00e9stas entidades ambientales, las 20 aerol\u00edneas m\u00e1s grandes de Europa han tenido beneficios de hasta 33.000 millones de euros en los \u00faltimos cinco a\u00f1os sin pagar impuestos de carburante o el IVA de los vuelos<\/strong>. En el comunicado las ONGS recogen que \u201cLas emisiones de gases de efecto invernadero de la aviaci\u00f3n alcanzaron niveles r\u00e9cord antes de que los viajes a\u00e9reos se detuvieran repentinamente en marzo\u201d. La portavoz sobre coronavirus de Greenpeace, Faiza Oulahsen, tambi\u00e9n ha alertado de que los rescates p\u00fablicos de aerol\u00edneas deben \u201cconllevar condiciones estrictas para\u00a0cortar de golpe la contribuci\u00f3n astron\u00f3mica del sector a la descomposici\u00f3n clim\u00e1tica<\/strong>\u201d.<\/p>\n

Es por eso que han pedido a los gobiernos que estos rescates impliquen nuevos compromisos <\/strong>que aseguren una transici\u00f3n verde para la aviaci\u00f3n.<\/p>\n
